國際不再恐同日（香港區）Idaho+ Hong Kong
LGBT groups in Hong Kong hosting one of the events of the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia started using the acronym ‘IDAHO+’ for the day since 2015. ‘IDAHO+’, using the LGBT+ theory, represents that apart from homosexuals, other sexual minorities such as bisexual, transgender, intersex and pansexual are also being discriminated against in the society. Hence, we should stand together to fight for equal rights.
The ‘+’ in ‘IDAHO+’ can also be explained as diversity and the unrestricted identity flow of sexual minorities. Different organizations around the world uses different acronym for this day such as IDAHOTI, IDAHOBiT, IDAHOT*, IDAHOTIB, etc. We have chosen the spelling ‘IDAHO+’ as its look is similar to that of ‘IDAHOT’, which makes it easier for people to remember and to represent the local context.
